Photobooks
Having spent the last two decades documenting humankind’s dazzling innovation and technological advancement, New York-based photographer Spencer Lowell has finally gathered some of his finest images under a single cover—one featuring a close-up of metallurgical-grade silicon, a material critical to—and synonymous with—modern-day high-tech industries.

This mesmerizing new photobook includes more than 50 pictures taken by Lowell between 2007 and 2024—mostly in the U.S. but also in other countries such as Chile, Norway, and Japan. The photographs feature a wide range of subjects—from robotic priests and sex robots to nuclear reactors, Mars rovers, and supercomputers.
